Where does our name come from?

The name of our ministry comes from the scripture readings in Matthews 17:1-9; Mark 9:29 and Luke 9:28-36. The story is about Jesus inviting his three disciples to join Him at Mount Tabor to pray. During the prayer time Jesus was transformed ...and a cloud appeared and the voice from the cloud said This is my Son, whom I love, Listen to Him. Mount Tabor Ministries, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on September 2004 by Bishop Louis Ngomo Okitenbo, Ph.-D.

:: Mount Tabor Ministries is a place where a transformation and systematic change will take place in peoples lives.

We at Mount Tabor believe that education is both the key to freedom and the way to transform lives. The first part of education is to listen to the Word of God. The second part is to learn how to apply those words in every day life.

Mount Tabor Ministries is prepared to help minority and families worldwide, who have fallen on hard times, learn how to break the cycle of poverty and transform their lives through prayer, the Word of God, and performing acts of Charity.

Mission Statement: Mount Tabor Ministries, Inc. a faith based, educational religious organization, not for profit 501(c) (3), dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty of poor, disabled, and elderly through community outreach programs as well as to transforming peoples' lives worldwide through prayer, preaching the Word of God and performing acts of charity in the name of Jesus-Christ.

Vision: To transform peoples' lives and to break the cycle of poverty.

GOSPEL SERVANT PRAYER

Eternal and Almighty God, you are a Father full of love and Mercy,

increase our desire to bring in unity all your children that life has separated.

Strengthen our will to serve you in truth. Reinforce our commitment to

serve our brothers and sisters in love and humility.

Give us the grace to be the Peacemakers, the Apostles of unity everywhere

division, trivialities and the destruction of harmony still rein among people.

In your Providence, give us all we need to accomplish the mission you assigned us.

By the Power of your Spirit guide us every day to choose your ways.

Oh God of kindness, by your infinite goodness, realize in each of us the happiness promised in this life

and in the life of the world to come. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
